"It might help prevent her dementia", I thought.
when I started caring my mother, I made a small trash box with a paper flyer
together with her.
However, I thought she would get bored from just making easy ones, so I
bought Origami paper from a stationery store and started making paper cranes
together, which we haven’t done in a long time. Her fingers didn’t work well as
used to, also the Origami crane I made would end up in the trash anyway.
I tried
to find better Origami for her, so I searched "Kusudama;decorative paper balls"
on the internet. I made Kusudama right away, which got my mother delighted
as she thought that is a beautiful paper art.
This is how I started to get more into Origami to see her happy.
So far I created more than 100 works of Oribana with my own designs and colors, soon
after my mother had to move to a hospital.
I brought a “Kusudama” to the hospital and it was used a decoration in the
reception and lounges.
I got comments from patients, nurses, and doctors because the "Kusudama" was
very colourful and it brighted the day for everyone in the office.
The joy of Oribana is the ability it has changes the interior of a room by
creative ideas.
I wish to keep creating new Oribana while at the same time enjoying the
seasonal flowers.
